Dairy producers signed and delivered a letter to the president of the Ministry of Agriculture Luis Basterra. In it, producers request the government to take steps to prevent a collapse of the dairy sector. This comes after a volatile period where prices have fluctuated dramatically and internal demand has weakened following this year's pandemic.

The sector has pointed at specific points that would allow them to focus on the international markets, where they hope to allocate their products. Namely, producers want taxes imposed on exported dairy products to be lifted, and that the government helps producers promote the dairy sector abroad.
