Declining Prices of Persimmon in Japan Since Mid-October 2022

Since mid-October 2022 in Japan, the price of persimmons in the wholesale market has been declining. The price as of the end of October 2022 was USD 1.94/kg (a drop of 20% YoY), and as of November 20, 2022, the price stood at USD 1.78/kg (a drop of 32% YoY). The decline is due to the abundant harvest of domestic persimmons. Persimmon production in Japan is currently at its peak, and this trend is expected to continue until the end of the year.
