Due to a short season in the Northern hemisphere, demand for onions is rising. Australian white onion season has already begun and is seeing strong domestic and export demand. The prices are from USD 0.65 to USD 0.72 per kg FOB. Brown onions delayed the start due to weather conditions. Moreover, labor shortages continue to put pressure on supply and price, which being at USD 0.72 per kg-USD 0.86 per kg FOB, 10% higher than pre-season prices.
