Russian traders and wholesalers are visiting Mersin, Turkey to purchase and restock goods before the New Year Holiday which lasts 10 days. Almonds, pecan nuts, and cashew kernels are among the goods demanded by Russian traders at bonded warehouses in Turkey. Turkey plays a big role in this trade, as it is one of the main sourcing countries for Russia that do not apply trade restrictions. In addition, Turkey undoubtedly requires this inflow of foreign currency from Russia, as its economy struggles with severe inflation and currency devaluation.
