Despite the fact that Greece is expecting lower rice production output this year, rice farmers are happy with the quality of their harvest and farmgate prices.
Last year's production output was about 230 KMT and this year's output is estimated to fall shorter than that.
The main buyers for the Greek rice are Turkish traders who purchase the products through Bulgaria and the current farmgate prices are at €0,28 per kg for white rice and €0,30 per kg for brown rice.
