The harvest did not start well in Egypt for grape varieties such as White Prime and Red Flame. Information received in April 2022 prior to season stated that exporters must be careful and conservative when loading to Europe. The second harvest of the Flame variety was especially concerning because growers and exporters faced quality problems (coloration, very high brix to drop). The White Sugraone/Superior variety was average quality, and most suppliers hoping that in September 2022, deals for Red and Black varieties (Crimson, Autumn Royal, Inia) especially to Southeast Asia and Russia will be better.
