Ecuadorian Hass avocado, less competitive in Western European markets

Ecuadorian Hass Avocado Industry is having a difficult time competing in Western European destinations. Mexican avocado is delivered to this region for approximately $1,20 per kilogram in CIF conditions, whereas Ecuador's avocado price stands at $3,20 per kilogram. This vast difference in price occurs due to Ecuador's lack of capacity to supply big quantities and its limitations in shipping wherein it can only deliver the goods via air freight.
