Increasing demand of beef in Malaysia

Suppliers are reminded not to smuggle cows or goats for the Qurbani ceremony starting this Friday in Eid-ul-Adha. This is because the animal is feared to carry various diseases. Malaysia is indeed short of local supply of meat, beef, and buffalo imported from foreign countries including Thailand. At this ceremony every year, the demand for fresh beef increased up to 80% and that increases smuggling activities at the borders areas.
