The dried Apricot 2021 season of Turkey has started on 1 August. Between 1 August and 10 December, Turkey exported USD 172.393.497 worth of dried apricots, which is 39% higher than 2020. While value increase is 39%, quantity increase is only 8%. Increased prices based on USD added to Turkish Lira value loss against USD made it harder for dried apricots to find demand in the local market.

Companies focus more on international markets such as France and Germany. China is a new and exciting market for dried apricots. China increased its export volume by 75% compared to 2020. The main difference between China and the European market is the quality they are looking for. European market prefers higher quality, bigger dried apricots while the Chinese market looks for smaller ones.
