Everybody agrees that the 2022 yields are looking very good. The crop has come through the end of winter, spring and now heading into summer without severe damage caused by frost or hail. Two weeks ago, there was a storm along the Orange River, which caused minor hail damage in the eastern parts of Upington.
The volume of raisins are estimated to reach 88,000 MT which will be a new record in South Africa. Harvest for processing raisins starts mid-January.
