Holy Week is the most awaited holiday by the fishing and aquaculture sector in Colombia, since it is a season where there is a significant increase in the consumption of these products mainly for religious reasons. The per capita consumption of fish in the country is 9.60/kg per year, figures for 2021 and this holly week is a time that helps this figure to have a good performance, since it is expected an increase in consumption between 30% and 50% compared to a normal time of year, the most consumed species are tilapia, catfish, cachama and trout. According to official figures, during this week sales of up to 400/mt of fish per day are achieved.
