Ecuadorian Spot Banana Prices Increase for W44

In W44, spot banana prices have suffered an increase, pricing went to USD 14.05 FOB for the 13.5 kg box and USD 17.75 FOB for the 18.14 kg box. A total of 4 vessels have arrived in the Ecuadorian port of Guayaquil to be filled with boxes of bananas in bulk, thus helping to put more pressure on the prices for quality export bananas. Another aspect affecting the price is the low volumes of bananas available for export from Central America from the plantations of multinational companies, caused mainly by the influence of the new Storm Lisa that is on its way to Belize and Guatemala, passing close to Honduras.
