Vietnam star anise price surged after the season ended due to shortage in the market

Star anise autumn crop 2021 has finished with good productivity in Vietnam; however, many farmers keep stocks and are not willing to sell at the moment. This leads to a shortage in the local market, and exporters have to buy at a very high price. Export price in the first week of November has increased by over 30% compared with the first week of October.
