The state-owned Ethiopian Shipping & Logistics Services Enterprise (ESLSE) slashed import shipping costs by more than half. This latest move applies to shipments from 18 ports in Asia. It will see the highest tariff cuts at 58%, while shipments from Chinese ports are over a third less expensive which is a great relief for Ethiopian importers. This is expected to lower the cost of agricultural products and food in Ethiopia and increase food security.
