According to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP), Vietnamese shrimp exports witnessed a notable shift in trends in Apr-24, with the European Union (EU) emerging as a bright spot with a 28% year-over-year (YoY) increase. In Apr-24, Vietnam's shrimp export value reached USD 287 million, an increase of 0.2% YoY. However, in the United States (US) market, shrimp exports to the US plummeted by 15% in Apr-24, totaling USD 168 million after a slight increase in Mar-24. The US saw a significant surge in shrimp imports from Ecuador, with a 25% YoY increase in volume and a 24% YoY increase in value.
