Exchange Rate Makes Importers Change Pangasius Purchasing Decision.

The devaluation of the Colombia pesos versus the US Dollar is making imports more expensive. Some importers have decided to reduce the purchase volume of pangasius until things "get back to normal"; others have decided to buy locally because there are still some importers with lots of stock, offering low prices in pesos.
Because of the presidential elections, to be held on 29 May, there is a lot of expectation regarding further changes in the Colombian exchange rate. There is no clear favorite to win this election but is going to be a head-to-head race between two candidates, one from the left and the other from the right.
