Export of Kenyan mango is now able to resume after phytosanitary-related ban

After 8 years of phytosanitary-related ban on Kenyan Mangos in Europe, Kenya is now able to resume export of Mangos to the EU. The 8-year ban drastically shifted the varieties of mangos being cultivated in Kenya. Today, Kenyan growers produce largely Apple Mango, a variety mostly preferred in Asian markets. There is demand and interest in the EU for Kenyan Mango, however, only if they can supply Kent, Keitt, or Palmer - the most highly preferred varieties in the European market.
