Pea Production Loss Is Estimated at 35% In Greece in 2023 Due to Rain

Hundreds of hectares of peas, allocated in contract farming for the IQF industry, were destroyed in Italy due to heavy rains in Emilia Romagna at the beginning of May. Similarly, in Greece, the production of fine peas has been irreversibly affected a few days before harvesting due to rains. As a result, more than 35% of losses in yield are expected in this season. The whole sector awaits the outcome of Belgian and Dutch crops to evaluate how expensive the product could be this season.
