The figures for international sales during January 2022 of meat, live animals and dairy products had an extraordinary performance. Regarding beef, 3,364 tons were exported for USD 14.5 million, live animals had a historical record with the sale of 52,114 bovines for USD 35 million and milk and dairy products reached 185 tons for USD 867 million. These figures are encouraging, although they are figures from a month before the Russia-Ukraine conflict, so at this moment the government, together with the livestock and dairy sectors, is seeking to diversify the markets for these products, given that Russia is one of the most important commercial partners for these products. In the case of live animals, Fedegan explains that this is the highest figure for live cattle exports in the last five years.
