COVID has left sugarcane producers in Quintana Roo in dire financial need after-sales dropped to the lowest level in decades, leaving over 30 K hectares of sugarcane in the state in a post-harvesting dilemma. Currently, the government is paying the producers to support production, and post-harvesting processes.
