The Indonesian government recently announced a reduction in fuel subsidies, resulting in a 30%–40% increase in fuel oil prices nationwide. The fuel price hike is forecasted to increase the country’s inflation by 1.8% and affect food prices. In recent weeks garlic prices in Java's wet market remained around USD 1.75 to 2.49/kg. Despite the stable prices and sufficient garlic supply, the garlic situation in Indonesia remains uncertain since the fuel and logistic prices remain high.
