Cocoa processing in Ghana is expected to increase significantly in the coming years with the current increase in cocoa beans production. The government plans to increase the processing rate of total cocoa beans from current 40% to at least 50% by 2025.
The Ghana Investment Promotion Council (GIPC) has partnered with Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) to promote local and Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) in cocoa processing. The Ghana Free Zones Enclaves and other new Industrial parks have been developed to support this agenda of Industrialization.
