Palm oil producers have called on the Ghanaian government to review the 50% reduction in benchmark import values by exempting palm oil from the application of the policy. Benchmark values are reference values that customs use in determining values that could be imposed on imports meant for clearance at the country’s ports. The policy has increased the importation of palm oil products which according to them is stifling local production.
