Ghana's local rice farmers across the country are having difficulty finding buyers for their products as a result of the the inability of major rice off-takers to purchase rice from the farmers. With the introduction of the benchmark value, imported rice have become much cheaper making it challenging for major rice processors across the country to break even hence their inability to purchase products from farmers.
