Ginger has shown good results during 2020. So far this year (up to September), root shipments had a growth of 103.8% compared to the same period in 2019. This growth allowed exports of an approximate value of US $ 48 million.
These results were driven by a higher demand from the US (due to the contraction in Chinese supply. Also, this year Peruvian ginger reached 14 new markets from a total of 29, among the new markets we find Russia (2% share), Dominican Republic (1% share) and South Korea (0.2% share).
