Global pangasius production in 2022 is likely to decrease by nearly 5%, mainly from Vietnam

Last year, Vietnam produced about 1.5 million MT of pangasius. However, in recent days, the Global Seafood Market Conference (GSMC) predicted that Vietnam's output this year might decrease by 0.2 million MT compared to 2021 to 1.3 million MT.
Meanwhile, the output of the remaining four countries in the group of five leading pangasius producers worldwide is expected to increase in 2022. Specifically, India increased by 662,000 MT, China 468,000 MT, Bangladesh 465,000 MT, and Indonesia 206,000 MT.
