The ministry of agriculture is optimistic about saffron production in Lebanon. Lebanese soil and weather are highly suitable for saffron production. Currently, saffron production is deficient and done by small groups of growers and farmers in over 30 different regions in Lebanon. However, saffron production is still at a minimum, and minimal interest in it.

The ministry managed to get 250,000 saffron seeds to give to farmers and start the project. However, it might take 2-3 years to start getting a good yield and results. This gives hope to the Lebanese economy due to the extremely high value of saffron.
