Government of India restricts mung bean import

The government of India has issued a notification recently restricting mung beans import with immediate effect. Based on the 'free import policy,' most importers who have been binding contractual obligations for import now face serious issues. Some of the shipments are in transit. If the 'free trade' is not allowed under the current notification, it will create gaps in the market, prompting a price hike and stock holding for mung beans.
