Green Mung Bean from Demak Regency is one of Indonesia Top exported Legumes

Green Mung beans from Demak Regency have become a national superior commodity and are exported to several countries. The green Mung bean commodity in Demak Regency ranks second after rice, with a harvested area of 25,952 hectares and total production reaching 36,981 tons per year. The number of mung bean exports in 2019 was 7,487 tons to Taiwan, China, the Philippines and Malaysia.
As for 2020, Demak has exported 8.891 tons of green beans to China and the Philippines. The soil in the Demak area are very suitable for Green Mung Beans Cultivation that makes the taste different from green mung beans from other regions, and tend to have a more pale colour which is liked by East Asian Markets
This is what makes Demak Regency one of the largest producer of green beans in Indonesia, even in Southeast Asia.
