The US pistachio harvest has more or less come to an end. This year’s crop seems to be smaller than expected. Whether the crop size will be around 900 million pounds (408,233.13MT) or less is still to be determined. Due to the pistachios this year coming in smaller, the average sizing is 21/27. Despite the lower volume and smaller sizes, the market has not experienced any major movement in pricing from its current levels. This has caused several packers to pull back from the market and not offer any volumes. The few indications available on the market are at USD 3.65/lbs. FAS, California.
