High cost of Common Beans in Uganda due to low production in 2020

Uganda is facing a scarcity of common beans especially the Light Speckled beans due to low production in 2020. The situation is said to be due to the pandemic which caused limited movements affecting farmers' participation in farming activities in general.
As a result, the bean prices are now shooting due to low supply and high demand making it hard to offer competitive prices to fellow African countries such as South Africa.
