Indonesia faced the second hike in fuel prices in the past three months, causing a direct impact on agricultural product prices. The new fuel price increase took effect on September 3, 2022, and already caused an average 3-5% price rise in food prices in W36. The poultry price increased by 4-7% in the Jakarta wet market, and the red chili price doubled WoW, reaching a price of USD 4.38-5.40/kg in W36. All the price hikes are due to the increasing logistic costs as the price of fuel increased by 30% - 40%.
