Lime Price FOT Rotterdam Is Increasing Due To Port Congestion

Limes are in high demand in WK 23 in Europe. Dutch importers are achieving prices of up to EUR 14/box FOT Rotterdam. One Rotterdam-based importer states that this peak in prices is a result of vessel delays from Brazil. Typically lime demand is quite high over the summer months due to increased consumption of cocktails and summer drinks. However, the delayed vessels have caused a sporadic and extreme spike in the market demand this week. Importers anticipate the market to regulate and for prices to drop quite significantly in WK 24, as the delayed vessels from Brazil begin to arrive in Rotterdam.
