Vietnam's mango and guava exports to Australia are growing strongly and account for a large proportion of the volume imported into Australia. In the first 5 months of 2020, Australia imported mainly from Vietnam, up 130.5% in volume, and 99.3% in value and the proportion of imports from Vietnam accounted for 31.4% of the total import of guava and mango to Australia. Vietnam's Import-Export Department believes that the diversification of export supply sources and boosting the export of mangoes to Australia - one of the most difficult markets in the world - are good signals for mango varieties in particular and the fruit and vegetable industry in general. Mango exports in Vietnam currently account for 8.4% of the total export value of vegetables and fruits and up 3.3% over the same period in 2019.
