Indonesian importers expecting temporary import deregulation for onion and garlic products

Importers are expecting the relaxation of import control on onion & garlic products, in anticipation of low stock and market demand for the coming Ramadan this year. These are regulated commodities that require a quota license from the government to import to Indonesia. Last year, there was temporary deregulation for these 2 products, from 18 March to 31 May 2020 to balance the supply and demand in the market.
