Imports of Sesame Seeds From Chad Will Dominate the Turkish Market in 2022

Chad origin sesame seeds will continue to dominate the Turkish market in 2022, just like in 2021. Last year, Turkey imported the most natural sesame seeds from Chad at 71,824MT, followed by Nigeria at 38,079MT. Despite significant inflation and the devaluation of the Turkish lira, Turkey has already imported 56,790MT from Chad in 2022. This is followed by imports from Sudan and Nigeria, with around 25,000MT. For hulled sesame seed from Chad, the EXW-bonded warehouse price in W44 is around USD 2300/MT.
