Turkish Salmon export increased 19 percent in Q1 in 2022.

In the first quarter of the year, 3,261 tons of Turkish salmon were exported for USD 25.4 million. In January-March 2021, USD 21 mllion of Turkish salmon was exported. Accordingly, Turkish salmon exports in the three months of this year increased by about 19% in value compared to the same period of 2021.
During this period, Turkish salmon was exported to 20 countries, mainly the Russian Federation, Germany and Canada. Exports to Russia decreased by 29% in value In the said period, 1,810 tons of Turkish salmon were exported to the Russian Federation, resulting in an income of USD 12 million. Salmon exports to Russia decreased by 48% in quantity and 29% in value compared to the first quarter of 2021, which earned USD 17 million for 3,484 tons of product. Russia was followed by Germany with USD 8.9 million and Canada with USD 1.75 million
In the same period of last year, Turkish salmon were also sent to the Netherlands, Poland, Denmark, Romania, Austria, Iraq, Switzerland and Thailand.
