For the third consecutive month, prices for poultry production increased in August. According to employees of Cepea, this scenario is mainly due to the high competitiveness of the protein in the domestic market in relation to beef and pork competitors and heated shipments, which reached the second-highest volume of the year last month - according to information from Secex, shipments of fresh chicken meat totaled 340.7 thousand tons in August, advances of 0.9% compared to July and 1.8% in comparison with August/19.

The good liquidity of the meat, both in the domestic and foreign markets, boosted from the prices of whole chicken to those of cuts and giblets. For live chicken, prices also increased, as the industry increased the demand for animals to guarantee the progress of production lines.
