An Increase of Exports of Spanish Serrano Ham In 2021

In 2021, Spain exported a total of 53,507 mt of cured ham, 13.70% up from 2020. These exports amounted to EUR 528.3 million, an 14.62% increase compare to 2020. The non-EU markets with the highest growth in value were China (14.69%), Chile (12.76%) and the USA (33.19%). This last market has become the main destination for cured ham outside the European Union, with record monthly exports, and the CJSE expects it to become one of the most important markets by 2022.
