During W48 and W49, skipjack tuna prices fluctuated between USD 1.45 and 1.55 per kilogram (kg) for sizes of 1.8kg and up in FOB Indian ports. However, there is an anticipation of price increases as landings have decreased, with catching vessels starting to return to shore before the Christmas holiday. The low supply of Skipjack tuna in India is expected to lead to higher prices in Jan-24. The market foresees an increase in prices as importers resume new orders post-New Year, reflecting the dynamics of supply and demand in the Skipjack tuna market.
