A recent market report has shown that the price of red snapper and mackerel at the traditional markets across the Central Indonesia region has experienced a rise this week. The price of red snapper has risen from IDR 45.000/Kg to IDR 50.000/Kg, while the price of mackerel is at IDR 60.000/Kg, up from its price last week at IDR 50.000/Kg.

The changes in price have been mostly caused by the bad weather in the region that has persisted since last week. As a result, the local fishermen have not been able to spend more time at sea, hence lowering the production output of red snapper and mackerel which are high in demand from the local consumers in this region. As the rainy season could potentially reach its peak in the final week of December 2020, some sellers expect that the price will continue its upward trend.
