Increasing Price of Local Spinach in the Tokyo Market in W49

Spinach in the Tokyo market started to raise its price. In December 2022, the temperature sharply decreased and delayed the growth of spinach. In W49, while the market still had 16% more spinach YoY, the quantity decreased by 5% from W48. The price in W49 stood between USD 2.30-2.94/kg, which was an increase from W48 where the price stood between USD 2.34-2.48/kg in W48. The increasing spinach prices in Tokyo are expected to last until January 2023.
