Increasing field rate of Pineapple due to availability issues

Due to the second wave of COVID hit in the Kerala, during September 2021, farmers did not treated the plants with ethylene and flowering got delayed. This caused a sudden shortage of pineapple in the field level and the price increase. For special grade Queen Pineapple, while the price on 2nd December 2020 was USD 0.26 per kg, the rate on 2nd Dec 2021 was USD 0.5 per kg. And the price trend is expected to increase in the coming week 3rd Dec 2021 to 10th Dec 2021.
