The interest in Turkish hazelnut will continue to increase

In 2022, the interest in hazelnut of international markets in hazelnut and its products will continue to increase.

In 2021, 345,433 MTT of hazelnuts were exported from Turkey, earning approximately USD 2 billion. Trabzon took first place, taking up 35 % of the entire hazelnut exports, exporting about 116,000 MT of hazelnut and the export volume surpassed USD 781 million. Trabzon was followed by Istanbul, Giresun and Ordu.

The main destinations were Italy, Germany, and Poland. There was an increase in hazelnut export volume, 58% in Italy, 35% in China, 27% in the USA, 76% in South Korea, and 100% in Japan.
