The Indian government may plan to allow exporting 1.8 million MT of wheat, after an export ban on May 13. The Delhi administration announced that with this step, it aimed to control the wheat price in the country, which has increased by at least 40% in global markets since the beginning of the year. Indian wheat is generally exported to neighboring countries Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka.
