Indian onion is quickly gaining popularity in the Sri Lankan market and giving tough competition to the Pakistani onion. Even though Indian onion is more expensive than the Pakistani onion, it is being preferred by Sri Lankan buyers because Indian suppliers are able to ship it out more easily, timely, and frequently. However, in Pakistan, there is still a shortage of reefer containers and vessels which is making it harder for the Pakistani suppliers to compete against the Indian suppliers since Indian suppliers have an edge when it comes to the logistics situation even though their prices are higher.
