Indian Pigeon Peas production this year may witness a deficit due to excess rains as India is expected to experience 23% more rain this November than it did in October. Other factors that could contribute to low production include fewer pigeon peas being sown in 2022 compared to 2021 as the government encouraged farmers to sow more oil seeds as well as cotton.
