Pomegranate seasons is coming up in India. The rate of pomegranate exports is rather slow at the moment as larger sizes are not widely available at this time. However, according to one exporter from India, exporters are struggling with quality and production issues, which undermined the position of the products in marketplace. At the same time, costs of sea freight are too high to have competitive advantage in the European market, but they are expected to attract market share in Asia and the Middle East.
The products are currently available in Solapur and the adjacent districts, contributing to the major harvest for export, which starts from mid-November and lasts until the end of April.
