Indonesia and China are negotiating the quarantine agreement for plantations and production houses.

Producers and exporters of the fresh pineapples are expecting the quarantine agreement with China can be agreed by 2022. Both parties are currently actively negotiating and are agreeing the standard and procedures for processes in the plantations and production houses. It is hoped that before the Q4 of 2022, trial exports to China will begin. Indonesian pineapple producers and exporters are projecting the China market to be the driver of the growth of fresh pineapple exports from Indonesia next year. Currently, the largest markets for Indonesia pineapple in Asia are Singapore and Japan.
