Iran will have produced around 600 KMT of various oilseeds in the period between Sept 2020 and Sept 2021, according to the Agriculture Ministry of Iran. This quantity will be sufficient to meet only 18% of the domestic demand and the rest of the volumes will need to be imported, causing estimated spending of $4 billion for the country. For the next crop year, the ministry is planning to extend the cultivation lands to 550 thousand hectares and to have a production output of 900 KMT oilseeds.
